About Jennifer L Hopp, MD

Jennifer Hopp, MD, received her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, and completed a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, in Charlottesville, Virginia, from which she went on to her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hopp is joining HCA Virginia Sports Medicine after completing her Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Houston Methodist, which was ranked #1 in orthopedics in both the Houston Metro Area and the entire state of Texas by US News and World Report. During her fellowship, she served as the Team Physician for Rice University and George Bush High School. Dr. Hopp was also tremendously engaged in her community, treating athletes in the Houston Rodeo, at the Houston and Woodlands Marathons, as well as the North American Ironman Championship in Houston in 2015.

Dr. Hopp is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is board-eligible for her Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine (CAQSM). She also holds an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification. She is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, recognizing individuals who are exemplars of humanistic patient care, and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine.

Dr. Hopp enjoys taking care of athletes of all ages and levels. She especially loves weekend warriors, mountain bikers, road cyclists, runners, and triathletes, and has a special interest in caring for female athletes from adolescence through geriatrics. Dr. Hopp is currently welcoming new patients and referrals.
